Python conference (2)

Tuesday 16th September 2008

It was a lot of fun: well attended (more than 240 people), with some excellent talks and tutorials. I particularly enjoyed Mark Summerfield's "GUI Programming with PyQt4" tutorial, which has given me an idea for something I've been wanting to do properly for a while. Also particularly interesting was Raymond Hettinger's talk on Python 3.0, and the talk about Amazon Web Services by Simone Brunozzi. And much more. There was some very good lightening talks at the end of each day. The conference dinner was excellent, with an Entertainment to follow which was a monologue with slides about the Lunar Society.
