It's extraordinary to see the way that the establishment and the media are reacting to the "UN spying" story: particularly the people that have been wheeled out essentially to cast doubt on Clare Short's sanity. They're also talking about a 'betrayal' by Clare Short and Katherine Gun - to use such language itself implies that what they have said is correct, as does the way in which the case against Katherine Gun collapsed.
It's also very telling that no-one is actually denying what's been alleged: Blair looked very uncomfortable at the news conference when he was doing precisely that - not denying it, under the cover of not being able to comment on security matters.
