Newsnight tonight wheeled out Peter Power to comment on the Forest Gate case, which he did with vigour, strongly defending the police. During the discussion, Sir Paul Lever, former chairman of the Joint Intelligence Committee, referred to the "ricin case" as justification for his views, although he must know that there never was any ricin in that case.

Peter Power is the former policeman who was running a simulated exercise involving bombings on the underground at exactly the time that the bombs actually went off, last year on July 7th.
He's also the person who took part in a Panorama programme about an imaginary 
very similar occurrence a year before the London bombings took place.  The
