To All Parents

Dear Parents

This is the final letter of the year and one in which I should like to express my gratitude to you all for your support in the past months.

Naturally, in this period of change, we have held lengthy discussions together and some of you have had to make important decisions concerning your children's education. I am pleased matters are now resolved and there is a bright future ahead for your sons and daughters.

May I wish S5's a successful two years in their sixth forms studying AS/A levels. To those who are continuing at Knightsbridge School I feel sure that you will greatly enjoy being the first pupils of the new schools and making new friends. To those younger pupils who will be leaving the college and transferring to other schools I wish you every future success in your studies and enjoyment of life in your new schools.

I should like to express my appreciation to the staff who have given so generously and wholeheartedly of their time and talents this year. To those who leave at the end of term: Mr Platford, Mr Chapman, Mrs Mulvihill, Mrs Chandler and Miss Hamma we wish them well in the future and thank them for their contribution to the life of the college.

My role next year will be as a consultant to Knightsbridge School with responsibility for the S11 students. I too therefore say my farewells and thank you for the honour and privilege of being Headmistress of Hellenic College for the past two years. I have enjoyed my contact with you all and the opportunity to learn so much about Greek culture, language and life.

The valedictory copy of Hellenic College's Newsletter which is attached comes to you as a Picture post showing the college at work and play. The Summer Term has been triumphant in many ways and we close our doors as new ones open. There could be no better conclusion to this important school.
