"The story that shames Britain" (3)

Sunday 7th January 2007

The Independent has a story today about the treatment of British residents Bisher al-Rawi and Jamil el Banna at Guantanamo Bay. Bisher al-Rawi, a British resident, but not a British citizen, was recruited by MI5 as an informer. Both have British families. They were kidnapped by the CIA in Gambia and taken to Kabul and then to Guantanamo. They have been tortured and their physical and mental health is severely affected. They are not considered a serious security risk by the British government, but have been imprisoned at Guantanamo under terrible conditions with no end in sight.
